Dry legs are best. For very wet legs, towel dry them as much as possible. The legs should not be soaking wet or muddy. 

You might have to clean/dry boots more often if you use the magnetic pastern wraps for turnout. Some of our customers have two sets of these wraps so they always have a dry pair.
